How to Use and Apply EveryDay Herbal Lotus Powder Plus

Lotus Powder Plus or Application Instructions:

Mix powder with lukewarm water into a thin paste. Some people like to substitute the water with an herbal tea brew (strained) and moisturizing oils.
Cover and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
Apply to hair, working thoroughly through your hair from roots to tips. If more water is needed, add it to your hair so that all hair is saturated.
Cover hair with plastic cap. Keep covered for 30 minutes to 1 hour. May be left on longer if desired.
Rinse hair thoroughly.
Apply a moisturizing oil or conditioner to your hair while hair is wet.
Style as usual.

Using Lotus Powder Plus as a rinse:

Your Lotus Powder Plus can both be used as either a deep conditioning or rinse conditioner for your hair. The difference is in the consistency and length of time left on your hair. Use as a rinse as follows:

Make an herbal brew using your Lotus Powder Plus. This is done by placing 1 1/2 teaspoon of either in a bowl with your favorite herb powders, leaves or petals: chamomile, rosemary, cardamom, neem, lavender, rose petals etc. Boil water and pour at least two cups of boiling water on top of this mixture. Cover and allow to steep until cool. Allow to sit for 24 hours. Stir and then strain off the liquid. (Because of the small particles that may be in your brew, a regular kitchen strainer may not suffice. You may want to stretch cheese cloth over a bowl and strain your brew through the cloth. You goal with straining is to have a liquid free of small particles.)

Once it has been strained, add additional water to this liquid brew to your satisfaction. The amount of water you add will depend upon how much of the various herbs you have chosen to use. The more herbs used, the more concentrated your resulting brew. You may also add a few spoons of your favorite floral water to this brew to enhance the aroma. My favorites include Jasmine, Citrus Blend, Honeysuckle, Rose and Orange Blossom. Pour brew in a bottle and cap to be used when you desire. This will remain usable for quite some time. I like to use it within a few weeks.

Pour your rinse (brew) on your hair and work through. You can add a few drops of your favorite moisturizing oils to this brew to work through your hair.

Spritzing your hair?

Use your brew as the base for your spritz. Add more water and a touch of natural vegetable glycerine and fill your spray bottle. You hair and scalp will love a drop of clary sage or neroli essential oils added to your spritz. Shake the mixture well prior to spritzing. Don't overdo it with the spritzing. The glycerine can cause a build up on your hair and make it sticky. So use only a touch of the glycerine in the mixture and keep in mind that a little will go a long way. I love this mixture to moisten my hair in between washing. Instead of the clary sage or neroli, I add a drop of Jasmine or Patchouli eo. But that is me and what my hair and nostrils love!
